Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon cubed and seeds removed
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 cup tequila silver or blanco preferred
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar for drizzle and flavor depth
  • 6 fresh basil leaves for blending and garnish
  • Salt optional, to enhance flavor
  • Ice cubes for chilling and texture

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Cocktail shaker (optional)
  • Glasses for serving
  • Muddler (optional for basil)

Method

  1. Blend watermelon cubes, lime juice, and basil leaves until smooth.
  2. Add tequila and blend again for a few seconds to combine.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding a little more lime juice if needed.
  4. Add ice cubes to a glass and pour the blended mixture over the ice.
  5. Drizzle balsamic vinegar on top of the drink to add flavor depth. Start with a small amount, adjusting to taste, as balsamic vinegar can be strong.
  6. Garnish with a basil leaf or watermelon slice.
  7. Optionally, rim the glasses with salt before serving for that classic margarita flavor.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a sweeter beverage, add a touch of honey or agave syrup before blending. Adjust ice quantity for desired consistency.
