Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups watermelon flesh (seeded and cubed) ripe and juicy
  • 1 cup cold water
  • to taste sugar or honey optional, based on sweetness preference

Method
 

  1. Begin by chopping ripe watermelon into small cubes, removing any seeds, and placing them into the blender.

  4. Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large mixing bowl, then pour the blended watermelon mixture through it, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining pulp and seeds.
  5. Taste the strained liquid and stir in sugar or honey if desired, until fully dissolved. Chill the Agua Fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to enhance its refreshing qualities.
