Method
 

  1. Pour water into a small saucepan.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks to the pot.
  3. Pour in vanilla extract or add vanilla bean pods.
  4. Add optional spices if using.
  5. Place saucepan on the stovetop.
  6. Heat until steam begins to rise, then immediately reduce to a low simmer.
  7. Reduce heat to a low simmer.
  8. Allow steam to release fragrant aroma.
  9. Stir occasionally for even scent distribution.
  10. Monitor water level while simmering.
  11. Add extra water if needed.
  12. Continue simmering as desired for ambience.

Notes

Keep an eye on the water level to prevent boiling dry. Feel free to customize with your favorite spices for a personalized scent. For a stronger aroma, simmer longer or add more vanilla.
