Ingredients

  • Strong brewed coffee or espresso 1 cup, hot and freshly prepared: The base of the latte, providing a rich, bold flavor.
  • Strawberry syrup ¼ cup, homemade or store-bought, slightly heated: Adds sweetness and a fresh berry flavor.
  • Milk ½ cup, frothed: Creates a creamy, smooth texture for the latte.
  • Black pepper pinch, freshly ground, about 1/16 teaspoon: Enhances the strawberry sweetness with a surprising kick.

Equipment

  • Coffee maker or espresso machine
  • Milk frother or whisk
  • Measuring spoon
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Cup or mug

Method

  1. Brew 1 cup of strong coffee or espresso.
  2. While the coffee brews, heat the strawberry syrup slightly until warm.
  3. Froth ½ cup of milk until creamy and slightly foamy.
  4. In a mug, combine the brewed coffee and strawberry syrup, stirring to blend.
  5. Pour the frothed milk into the mug, leaving some foam to spoon on top for a creamy finish.
  6. Add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper and stir gently. Stir in the strawberry syrup and combine well.
  7. Top with the milk foam and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust the amount of black pepper to taste for a milder or stronger zing. For a sweeter drink, add more strawberry syrup as desired.
