Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 3 oz flavored gelatin powder choose various fruit flavors for layered effect
  • 1 cup cold fruit juice to dilute gelatin and improve texture
  • 1 cup chopped fresh fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, or peaches
  • 1 cup additional cold water

Method
 

  1. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Pour the boiling water into a heatproof mixing bowl.
  2. Add the flavored gelatin powder to the hot water and whisk until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. The mixture should be clear and smooth.

  3. Stir in 1 cup of cold fruit juice and 1 cup of cold water to dilute the gelatin, mixing thoroughly. The liquid should have a uniform color and consistency.

  4. Divide the liquid evenly into 2-3 smaller bowls and add chopped fresh fruit to each, mixing gently. These will be the colored layers with embedded fruit.

  5. Pour the first colored layer into a molds or a shallow dish, filling about 1/3 to 1/2 of the container. Place the mold in the refrigerator and let the layer set for about 30 minutes until firm but still slightly tacky.
  6. Once the first layer is set, pour the second colored gelatin layer gently over the first, avoiding disruption of the previous layer. Repeat the setting process in the fridge for another 30 minutes. Continue layering until all gelatin is used.
  7. After the final layer has completely set, run a warm knife around the edges of the mold and invert onto a serving platter. Slice into squares or rectangles to reveal the colorful stained glass effect.

Notes

For best results, use clear flavored gelatin and chilled fruit to ensure vibrant layers. Experiment with different fruit combinations for diverse color effects.
