  • 1 apple apple sliced thinly; tart or sweet varieties work
  • 1 orange orange thinly sliced or peeled strips
  • 1 cinnamon stick cinnamon stick whole for easy removal
  • 1 bay leaf bay leaf
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional for added warmth

Method
 

  1. Pour water into a small saucepan and place it on the stove over medium heat.
  2. Add the whole cloves, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf to the water.
