Ingredients

  • 2 ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • 4 bags black tea bags preferably loose or bagged
  • 4 cups cold water
  • to taste honey or sweetener (optional) for added sweetness

Equipment

  • Sharp Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Jug or Pitcher
  • Measuring cups
  • Spoon or stirrer

Method

  1. Slice the peaches into thin, even wedges using a sharp knife and a clean cutting board, aiming for 1/4-inch thickness for optimal flavor infusion.
  2. Place the sliced peaches into a large jug or pitcher, spreading them evenly on the bottom.
  3. Add the black tea bags to the jug, ensuring they are fully submerged in the water. Pour in 4 cups of cold water over the peaches and tea bags.
  4. Stir in honey or sweetener if desired, then gently press down on the tea bags to infuse the flavors. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let steep for at least 2 hours, until the tea is chilled and fragrant.
  5. Remove the tea bags and give the mixture a gentle stir to combine the flavors. Serve the iced tea in glasses with additional peach slices or ice as desired, ensuring a clear, vibrantly colored beverage with visible peach pieces.

Notes

For a stronger peach flavor, add more slices or steep overnight. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
