- Pour 4 cups of water into a saucepan.
- Add orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and allspice.
- Heat until just steaming, then maintain a very low simmer to slowly release fragrance.
- Reduce heat and allow it to simmer on low.
- Add more water as needed and continue simmering for desired fragrance.
