Ingredients
  

  • 2 cinnamon sticks preferably whole
  • 3 star anise pods whole
  • Peel of 1 orange fresh, pith removed
  • Peel of 1 lemon fresh, pith removed
  • 4 cups water enough to cover spices

Equipment

  • Small saucepan or pot
  • Stove or induction cooktop
  • Knife or peeler
  • Measuring cup

Method
 

  1. Fill a small pot with 4 cups of water.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks, star anise, orange peel, and lemon peel.
  3. Place the pot on the stove and bring the mixture to a light boil, then immediately reduce heat to a very low simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to low simmer and allow aromas to release gradually.
  5. Let it simmer as long as desired, adding more water when needed.

Notes

Adjust spice quantities to taste or add extra citrus slices for brighter aroma. Keep an eye on liquid levels to prevent burning, and enjoy the cozy fragrance!
