  • 2 sticks cinnamon whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 orange orange sliced into rounds
  • 8 whole cloves whole cloves
  • 2 cups water to dilute and release aroma

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan or pot
  • Stovetop

Method

  1. Pour the apple cider and water into the medium saucepan, filling it about halfway.
  2. Add the cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and cloves to the liquid mixture.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture just to a gentle simmer, listening for soft bubbling sounds.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, then let it gently simmer for 20–30 minutes to allow the ingredients to release their aromas and infuse the cider.
  5. Occasionally, check the pot and add a splash more water if needed to prevent evaporation and burning.
  6. Once fragrant and steaming, remove the pot from heat and carefully lift out the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves if desired or leave them for continued scent.
  7. Enjoy the warm, spicy aroma filling your space—perfect for cozy autumn days.

Notes

Keep an eye on the mixture to avoid boiling dry, and replenish with water if necessary to maintain aroma flow and prevent burning. Add extra slices of orange or cinnamon for enhanced scent and visual appeal.
